Scutigera Coleoptrata (House Centipede)

Okeh, hari ni saya nak berkongsi maklumat mengenai sejenis lipan yang telah ditemui di Lata Gambir, Cheroh, Pahang semasa kami membuat aktiviti perkhemahan. Berikut adalah maklumat ringkas mengenai House centipede atau nama saintifiknya "Scutigera Coleoptrata" .

Identification

Distinctive overall shape, with notably long legs. The general colors are yellowish brown hues, with three dark stripes running along the top of the body with lighter shading between them. The 15 pairs of legs are banded, becoming lighter toward their tips, with barbs that help hold onto prey.

They have large, well-developed, multi-faceted eyes.

In females the last pair of legs are more than twice the length of the body.


Habitat

Mostly encountered indoors in damp areas such as bathrooms, cellars, and crawl spaces. It will venture beyond these areas and is often seen quickly scurrying across people's floors or climbing a wall.
Outdoors, they live under logs, rocks, and similar moist protected places.


Food

Predatory on other arthropods, including cockroach nymphs, flies, moths, bedbugs, crickets, silverfish, earwigs, and small spiders. In short, they'll eat many things you'd probably much rather not have in your home.


Life Cycle
A female may lay anywhere from 35 to over a hundred eggs, but does not guard or provide for them. Larvae hatch with four pairs of legs and get increasingly more as they mature, up to 15 pairs at maturity.

Itu adalah antara maklumat yang saya dapati dari Internet, sekurang-kurangnya kita dapat mengenali serangga yang melata di bumi kita. Banyak lagi yang masih belum kita terokai. Terdapat sekitar 5,000 spesies pepatung (dragonfly), 2,000 mentadak (praying mantis), 20,000 belalang (grasshopper), 170,000 rama-rama dan kupu-kupu, 120,000 lalat, 82,000 pianggang (aku masih tercari2 maksud pianggang nih), 350,000 kumbang, dan 110,000 spesies lebah dan semut. Menabjukkan bukan !

ok... aku dapat dah apa maksud pianggang tuh.... pianggang adalah sejenis serangga dimana mereka mempunyai bahagian mulut yang sesuai untuk menghisap lenair dari tumbuhan. Pianggang dari Keluarga Pentatomidae, badan mereka lebah dan nipis serta mengeluarkan bau yang busuk. . Mereka boleh mengeluarkan bunyi yang kuat dari bahagian abdomennya. Dalam bahasa inggerisnya "PLANT BUGS"

Contoh senangnya... RIANG-RIANG....penat aku cari maksud "pianggang" tu.. (baru aku tahu diorang kuarkan bunyi dari perut....hihihihih)
